This book was published only three years after the opening of the Israel Museum with its unique representation of the extraordinary continuity of human settlement and creativity in the Holy Land from the early Stonae Age to the present. The book includes an introduction by Philip Hendy, a section about the Background to a Museum by Karl Katz and includes The Bezalel National Art Museum, The Samuel Bronfman Biblical and Archaeological Museum, The Youth Wing, The Shrine of the Book, and The Billy Rose Garden. The second section is entitled 5000 Centuries of Art including Arahaeology from Caves to the Crusades, Scrolls from the Dead Sea, Jewish Tradition in Art, and World Art in Jerusalem. There is a list of all 227 plates of exhibitions both in color and black and white. The book contains 268 pages, 18.5 x 24.5 cm and in very good condition.
