The Jews of Umbria, three volumes based on the documentation from the archives of Umbria from 1245 and until 1736, by Ariel Toaff and pubished by EJ Brill. A documentary history of teh Jews of Ital edited by Shlomo Simonsohn, the Diaspora Research Institute Tel Aviv University. Total 1466 pages.
There are a total of 2813 documents, a few in English, the majority in Italian. The documents were taken from the region's public archives. Umbria was an important geographical and political region in central Italy during the late Middle Ages and linked to the Pope. The documents provide iinformation about the Jews' economic role in the Umbria region and their relation to the Pope.
